Recertification Process

Regional Referee recertification ensures you remain qualified to officiate at the highest levels of amateur soccer. Each year, referees must complete training, testing, and fitness requirements to maintain their license and continue receiving Regional-level assignments. The process keeps officials up to date on the Laws of the Game, safety protocols, and performance standards.”

- Enrollment: Must register and have held a Regional License in the previous registration year
- Fitness: Pass sprint/interval tests (FIFA Women’s Referee Test – Category 1 for men, Category 3 for women)
- Safety & Compliance: SafeSport trained, Safe and Healthy Playing Environments, and current background check
- Laws of the Game Update & Test: Pass the National Laws of the Game test (online)
- Training: Complete online and in-person field session
- Practical Evaluation: Two passing referee evaluations — one at the Adult Amateur level and one at the highest youth level (U18 or U19, full 2 x 45-minute halves) — from two different referee coaches
