Female Only Grassroots Referee Course

This class is open to women and girls who would like to become a soccer referee.

CLASS WILL BE HELD ON BOTH FEBRUARY 29 AND MARCH 1 FROM 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and will be more comprehensive than most new Grassroots referee classes.  You must SUCCESSFULLY complete all online forms and modules or you will not be admitted to class.  Lesson 1 of the online training will direct you to the US Soccer Learning Center, where you will be required to complete their 4.5-hour Grassroots online course. Please follow the instructions at http://marylandreferees.com/msr2/?page_id=21  to ensure you complete all steps necessary.  Students who are 18 or older will be responsible for completing separate SafeSport training as well as having a background check. Lesson 3 of the online training will direct you to SafeSport. The background check will be automatic as soon as you register.  There will be a written test at the end of class that must be passed.  Bring note-taking materials, a whistle, snacks, and a water bottle. You should be dressed to both be in a classroom and participate in field training for multiple hours.  Closed-toe shoes only.  It would be very beneficial to download or otherwise obtain the most current Laws of the Game from theifab.com website or from US Soccer.  As an alternative, there is an excellent IFAB Laws of the Game app available for both Android and Apple.

This course is being offered at SECU Arena at Towson University. Participants should park in Lot 21. Exact location specifics will be provided 1 week prior to the class start. Click here for a Towson campus map.
