Women and Girls in Soccer — Referee Course

Women and Girls in Soccer (WAGS), a charitable organization devoted to promoting soccer and athletic development for women and girls, is sponsoring a woman’s only referee grade 8 certification clinic March 10 and 11 in Alexandria Virginia. Female candidates who successfully complete the courses will be reimbursed by WAGS.

Recently WAGS sponsored USSF E coaching license over the summer. Following the smashing success of the coaching course, WAGS seeks to do the same for the referee community. It is universally acknowledged that there are far too few female referees. Our young female soccer players who are considering taking up officiating are lacking role models. This clinic is an opportunity to increase the quantity and quality of female referees in the metro area in a supportive, female centric environment.

The course will be taught by VA/DC instructor Diane Florkowski.
